Hi guys. I've decided to move my photostream to www.flickr.com/photos/williambullimorephotography/ for a couple of reasons. First and foremost was that I wanted that custom URL. When I first started at flickr, I didn't realise how much photography would take over my life, so I set the custom URL to my then user-name, "5cheherazad3". Of course, that can't be changed. Now that photography has become a major part of my life, I'd prefer to have my name in the custom URL.
Also, I only want to present my best work on the new URL. While I look back over the last two years worth of photos on this stream, I can see big changes in my style, technique etc. It's great to have that all here for posterity but I want to put my best foot forward on the new stream. Another reason is that I like to try and comment on every single person that leaves a personal comment on my photos (not the cut and paste comments though). Lately, it's become a bit unwieldy on this stream and I'm struggling to keep up. I believe that if someone takes the time to write a personal comment then it's only fair and considerate to return the gesture. I'll be a bit more circumspect on the new stream so as to minimise the cut and paste comments. Then I can concentrate on leaving personal comments on my contacts' photos. Another reason for the change is a recent increase in the amount of spam flickrmails that I've been receiving. I'm hoping to minimse that with my new stream. Finally, now that I've become a student, that is going to be my main focus. Therefore I won't be posting as regularly - possibly once or twice a week on the new stream.
So in the coming weeks, I'll be adding my regular contacts to my new contact list on the new photostream. It's going to take a while but it will be worth it. But I need to ask you a favour. To make the job easier would you mind coming on over to my new stream and either comment on the latest photo over there and/or make me a contact. That will make it so much easier to make sure I don't lose any of my trusted contacts. Thanks!
Thanks for reading all of that and I'll say, have a great weekend. I'll see you on the flipside.
